Lise from the beginning makes a strong impression: first, indignant at the clerk, who offers her a stain resistant dress, a moment later, deaf to the subtle suggestions, decide the psychedelic set with bright, biting each other colors and patterns. Flippancy will show a few times, and her strange behavior often cause confusion. All of this on space of just two days, because so much time is left until the end of Lise her short life.
A tragic young woman is already known from the first pages, although the tension is not waning. On the contrary - the rise of ever more surprising moves the main character. He goes to the north of Europe on holiday and the occasion to meet closer to the unknown man. In the case of Lise you can never be certain, moreover: the spot tells the fictitious story, it works erratically, and on impulse. Increasingly bothering why perish, and not - who turns out murderer.
niesztampowa Expressive and heroine, a lot unsaid and a good pace helped create a dark and disturbing story. Tells the surprising ending to review all previous notions of Lise and trace its history from the beginning. It would be unjust to treat The Driver's Seat plain thriller, it is primarily a great psychological novel. Rarely occur so sophisticated form created on one side of the question marks, on the other - with the details. A revelation to me.
Based on the book in 1974 there was a film Fri Identiki tz Elizabeth Taylor in the lead role, it appeared in the Andy Warhol.
