I read on the cover of the novel "My Michael" has been recognized by critics as an Israeli "Madame Bovary". Disease escapes in dreams. My

Oh, such a temperament. When I recovered in late winter, I met the taste of exile. Lost a wonderful alchemy, the magical power of dreams government that bore me, outside of reality. Book Oz gives a lot of possible interpretations, the most interesting struck me as the narrator dreams. The second "I" Hannah oscillates between the cold and imperious queen and imprisoned and humiliated captive. Inherent characters of dreams is a demonic twins - once in the role of executioners, once - saviors, but always connected with the element of water. Topic sea is here, moreover, another important clue, as Hannah's husband's profession or geology - Michael especially interested in processes of erosion. In the background, echoing songs Verne and Melville, discreetly draws a story of a young state of Israel (the novel covers 50s of the last century). To all of Jerusalem - the unfriendly Chana.
Communing with the main character is difficult to include pleasure and perhaps that is why "My Michael" was not an easy read for me. But putting aside the book I thought it would have read it several more times, each using a different trail. Otherwise, too many can fail, too much can be omitted. Readers fond of details and fun literature will be rather satisfied.
